Land Clearing
All aspects of site clearing process to include tree removal, stump removal, selective clearing or tree trimming, grubbing, root raking and rough grading needed to efficiently clear vegetation to make a project site ready. We will clear the way for your homesite, driveway, roadway, or other development project.
Logging
Harvest timber, process on-site, cut to length and transporting timber to local woodyards and mills where it is used in everyday products. All vegetative debris such as limbs, stumps, and brush are chipped or mulched to be used as soil improvement
Demolition
Structural Demolition to remove residential buildings of all sizes, concrete demolition to break up foundations, slabs, pavement or sidewalks that need to be removed from a project area, and other site preparation demolition to remove debris from a project area.
Our Process
1. Get the Site Ready for Clearing
The first step in any land clearing project is to assess the site and identify the trees and vegetation that need to be removed, this step is typically taken during the project plan formation. In many areas, permits and environmental assessments are required before any clearing can be done. Lastly, a silt fence or tree protection fence is installed to adhere to erosion and run-off requirements.
2. Remove Trees and Vegetation
The tree removal process involves mechanical felling, stump removal and root removal. With the use of Excavators, Skidders, Dozers and chainsaws the trees within the Limits of Disturbance are transported from the forested area to a log deck where the timber is graded, stacked and ready to be loaded onto a log truck and delivered to mills and woodyards.
3. Clean Up and Site Inspection
When the timber is completely removed from within the clearly marked Limits of Disturbance, a bulldozer will come back through for a final sweep of debris removal to catch large limbs or roots left behind. The remaining vegetative debris will be hauled off or burned onsite where permitted. After the site is cleared, an inspection will be requested to walk the project with our team to ensure a job well done.

Where Forestry Meets Clearing
SK Logging LLC was created to ensure a sustainable method of timber harvesting would be applied to any land clearing projects of SK Development Inc. Our goal is to reuse and recycle all wood products possible according to the North Carolina Forestry Association and North Carolina Forest Service guidelines. Our skilled crewmembers are ProLogger Certified Loggers, a program administered by the North Carolina Forestry Association (NCFA). This program started in 1994 in a cooperative effort from the NCFA, NC Department of Labor, NC State Highway Patrol and the NC Forest Service. Skilled and knowledgeable in the Forestry Best Management Practices our team is certified in the following:
- Timber Harvesting: Forest Thinning or Traditional Logging also known as “Clear Cutting” removes all timber from a specific area
- Brush Removal: Help eliminate the threat of wildfires
- Chipping & Mulching
